The detector is affecting the particle. No small particle can be measured without being displaced somehow.  The guy in the video knows this too, if he's a physicist. He knows the detector is collapsing the wave function of the particle.  It's physically impossible for the detector to NOT affect the particle. People who say that literal human consciousness is affecting the particle are considered quacks by the legit physicist community. There are a lot of quacks in quantum mechanics, they get away with it because the material itself is so dense and esoteric. These quacks sometimes make a lot of money writing books and giving lectures. This particular episode of quackery has been around for a long time, initially due to a misunderstanding of the scientific usage of the term, "observer." You've been warned.
